Cruise Description
8 Night Cruise sailing from Sydney return aboard Carnival Spirit.
You’re gonna need more fingers (and toes) to count all the things to do on board
Carnival Spirit can be summed up in one word: amazing. Well, maybe two words: amazing and exciting. Okay, make it two words plus one hyphenated word: amazing, exciting and jaw-dropping.
Highlights of this cruise include:
Sydney, Australia
Sydney is located on the south-east coast of Australia. It is the largest and most populated city in Australia and the state capital of New South Wales. The city is built on hills surrounding Sydney Harbour where the Sydney Harbour bridge and the Sydney Opera House are located. The region features many bays, rivers, inlets and beaches including the famous Bondi Beach. Within the city are many picturesque parks including Hyde Park and the Royal Botanical Gardens.
The most well-known attractions include the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Other attractions include Royal Botanical Gardens, Luna Park, some 40 beaches and Sydney Tower. The Rocks precinct includes the first colonial village of Sydney and some great shops, cafes and galleries are located here. Sydney also has several popular museums, such as the Australian Museum (natural history and anthropology), the Powerhouse Museum (science, technology and design), the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Australian National Maritime Museum.
Moreton Island
Moreton Island is Australia’s best-kept secret. Located 35 kilometres northeast of Brisbane, it’s the world’s third largest sand island. Marvel at crystal clear lakes, an abundance of rare wildlife and endless white sandy beaches. Put simply, it’s an aquatic playground and marine sanctuary that can only be described as heavenly.
Are you an adrenalin junkie? Well, Morton Island is for you. Try quad biking, parasailing or tobogganing down sand dunes the size of apartment blocks. If you like adventure, jump into a 4WD or jump on a paddle board. Explore the hulking Tangalooma Wrecks or take a hike and explore the island by foot. At designated areas you can even handfeed wild dolphins.
Airlie Beach, Australia
As the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, Airlie Beach is the perfect place see the underwater treasures Australia’s most famous ecological site has to offer. Glass bottom boat tours to some of the most pristine marine sites in the area are available from the marina, while a ferry to Daydream, South Molle and Long Islands is accessible from Shute Harbour, which is a great option if you’re more the island hopping type.
If you’re pining for an inland experience, a variety of activities such as Quad-biking, horse-riding and hiking are available locally, and perfectly capped off by a stroll through the bustling local market.
